KDWV’S MARCH 2026

Message from the Executive Director

Dear Members and Partners,

This month, KDWV continued its close engagement with member companies through a series of visits, where we had the opportunity to witness your achievements, growth, and ongoing success across different sectors. These visits allowed us to better understand your priorities and business needs, while further strengthening our commitment to supporting and promoting our members.

A key highlight of the month was the business delegation that visited Kosovo, including ITP Prizren, The delegation explored concrete opportunities for investment and collaboration, while experiencing the potential of ITP as a platform for innovation, technology, and international business development. The feedback was clear: Kosovo is no longer seen as an emerging market alone, but as a place where serious business can be developed.

This momentum continued with our Business After Hours event, where the presence of the German delegation created a dynamic environment for high-quality exchanges. Beyond networking, the event generated real conversations around partnerships, market entry, and joint initiatives, exactly the kind of outcomes we aim to facilitate.

At KDWV, we are increasingly focused on turning connections into concrete opportunities. By actively sharing access to platforms such as the Future Industry Minds conference and major trade fairs like Hannover Messe, we are ensuring that our members are not only informed, but positioned, to engage where decisions and partnerships are made.

Our mission remains clear: to strengthen the bridge between Kosovo and Germany, and to ensure that our members are visible, competitive, and integrated into European value chains.

Please save the date for the German-Kosovar Economic Forum on 28–29 October, a key milestone where we will bring this vision to scale. As always, KDWV continues to serve as a trusted platform connecting businesses from Kosovo and Germany, enabling partnerships, dialogue, and long-term economic cooperation.

Thank you for your continued trust and collaboration.

This Month at KDWV – Key Highlights

FI-KS marks third year with new leadership

The first FI-KS meeting of 2026, held on March 26, marked an important milestone as the network entered its third year since its establishment. During this period, FIKS has continued to strengthen cooperation and dialogue among its members, contributing to the development of Kosovo’s financial and digital ecosystem.

During the meeting, the chairmanship was formally handed over to Paysera, ensuring continuity in leadership and a renewed commitment to advancing the platform’s objectives.

Among the key decisions of this session was the establishment of an AML and Compliance Committee within FI-KS. This step reflects the members’ joint commitment to strengthening standards, enhancing transparency, and aligning with best practices in financial integrity and regulatory compliance.

Organized by business factors Deutschland GmbH and supported by the Government of Kosovo, this initiative positions Kosovo as a Partner Country and creates direct opportunities for engagement with German industry leaders.

KDWV and IOM Kosovo sign MoU to strengthen economic cooperation

On 27 March, IOM Kosovo and the German-Kosovar Business Association signed a Memorandum of Understanding, marking a stronger partnership on migration and economic development.

Through this cooperation, the two parties will work together to support the local economy and migrant populations in Kosovo by facilitating labour market integration, strengthening business development and entrepreneurship, and highlighting the positive role migration can play in creating new opportunities for the private sector.

Regional Economic Integration in Focus at Riinvest Panel

On 12 March, the Berlin Process and the Common Regional Market were at the center of a panel discussion organized by the Riinvest Institute and moderated by its Executive Director, Dr. Alban Hashani. Among the invited speakers was Besnik Vasolli, Executive Director of the German-Kosovar Business Association (KDWV), who shared the business community’s perspective on the importance of economic cooperation, trade integration, and regional mobility.

From the perspective of international investors, the Western Balkans is increasingly seen not as six small markets but as a region with considerable potential of around 18 million consumers. Turning this potential into concrete opportunities requires the full implementation of existing agreements, the reduction of administrative barriers, and faster digitalization of trade-related processes.
