This Month at KDWV – Key Highlights

KDWV at the Sarajevo Energy Forum Workshop

Representatives of the German–Kosovar Business Association (OEGJK) participated in a workshop organized within the framework of the Sarajevo Energy Forum, focusing on key challenges of the regional energy transition and opportunities to strengthen regional cooperation.

KDWV’s participation was facilitated through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with regional energy associations from Bosnia and Herzegovina and North Macedonia.

During the workshop, KDWV contributed to discussions on energy policies, the impact of mechanisms such as CBAM, and the need for a coordinated regional approach to represent business interests in the alignment with European standards.

ARTICLES

For the First Time, Kosovo at the EESC

For the first time, the German–Kosovar Business Association (OEGJK) participated in a hearing of the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) as an Enlargement Candidate Member, marking an important step in strengthening Kosovo’s representation in EU-level economic and social dialogue.

This also represents the first-ever participation of Kosovo in the EESC, opening a new channel for voicing business perspectives and contributing to discussions related to EU integration, economic policy, and the enlargement process.

A New Phase in Kosovo –Germany Relations

Kosovo-Germany economic relations are entering a new phase, moving beyond development support toward a more strategic, business-driven partnership.

Kosovo is increasingly recognized as a reliable partner, supported by a growing private sector, an active diaspora, and stronger integration into European value chains.

Strengths in digital services, near-shoring, and the green transition align well with current German and European market needs.

At KDWV, we work to turn this shift into concrete partnerships that create shared value for both economies.
